Life After the Storm

The most difficult part of the breast cancer journey begins when the medical treatment ends.  Like a tornado, a breast cancer diagnosis comes into woman’s world suddenly.  Swiftly and forcefully, her life is swept up, spun around and finally she is spit out – grateful to be alive, but battered, bruised and immeasurably changed.  She is often expected to quickly pick up the pieces and resume life as normal. However, life as she knew it is completely different and will remain so for the rest of her life.

The film will intimately explore the lives of women under 50 who, along with their families, find themselves in the aftermath of the tornado we call breast cancer, picking through the debris, salvaging what they can, letting go of other things and rebuilding their lives.  It is a story of mixed blessings, hope, strength, loss and the rediscovery of one’s self.
